La Jolla Maternity Session: Estrella and Estevan

La Jolla Maternity Session: Estrella and Estevan

I saw Estevan cheering his fiance Estrella on from his seat as she gave her Maid of Honor speech at her best friend Estee’s wedding, which I was photographing. I remember Esteban whisking Estrella off her feet on the dance floor and how they emitted happiness and this deep love for each other that was warm and genuine. I remember thinking, “Aww, they look like they have a lot of fun!” Good people attract good people, so it’s no surprise that my couples have amazing friends and family I get to be around all day.

Fast forward to today and Esteban is no longer a fiance but rather a husband, and Estrella is expecting their first child, a baby girl! When they approached me to document this very special time in their lives, I of course said yes. With a combination of land and sea, La Jolla was the perfect place for Estrella and Estevan’s maternity portrait session. Estrella loves the water, so ending on the beach at sunset was perfect!

Estrella and Estevan, I adore you both and cannot wait to hear all about parenthood! You will make phenomenal parents! Can’t wait to meet Baby E! xo, Evelyn

Downtown San Diego Portrait Session: Matt, Mia, and Nala

Downtown San Diego Portrait Session: Matt, Mia, and Nala

For months, Matt, along with his girlfriend Mia, talked about the potential of adopting a puppy. A simple mention of a puppy is when the anticipation began for them and their friends, myself included, all along for the ride of this puppy adoption process. I love dogs and absolutely believe they become family members once they join a household, so to be a part of the build up for this puppy's arrival was so exciting!

At a few weeks of age, Matt and Mia's fur-baby came home - Nala arrived! - and to celebrate her and their new 'family extension,' portraits were a must! Nala will only be this little once in her life, as she'll grow up to be a full sized Goldendoodle, so now was the best time to capture her, and to see both Matt and Mia beam with joy was an absolute pleasure!

Sunset Cliffs Portraits: Tom & Adam

Tom and Adam met in Philadelphia when Tom frequented the gym where Adam worked the front counter. A year of flirtation and one gym staff/member party later, Tom and Adam were a couple.

Fast forward 5+ years, Tom and I meet. He likes to talk, I like to talk, and we both moved from the East Coast to San Diego: insta-friends! It wasn't until Tom started leaving funny comments on my Instagram account photos (i.e. "Stop taking photos of other men. It makes me jealous! Haha")  that we decided to plan a portrait session for him and Adam to showcase their love and glimpse of their new West Coast home.
